As part of routine investigations, surveillance medical officers will follow-up with paralysis cases to see if they remain paralyzed. Usually non-polio paralysis resolves itself in a couple of weeks.
This crying girl wouldn't standup to be evaluated...
...but chances are if she's running back to mommy at full speed, she's no longer paralyzed!

Cameramen with umbrellas were always present, ready to take photos of vacationers. For a fee of course.
