Zipping videos

Well, I finally got around to uploading some videos to the Internet of us zipping along in the Gibbon Experience. But first, some photos from Anna and Reiner, two Dutch that also stayed in the treehouses with us.

Treehouse orientation- telling us the history about the gibbon experience and the do's and don'ts of the treehouses (lightning storms and heavy winds aren't good, no suprise there!).

Crossing a muddy stream. I'm just thankful there weren't leeches in the water. There were plenty close to shore though, those little bastards are just a nuisance. I'm bringing salt next time.

Dinner in the treehouse.

Click the photo below to hear the sounds of the rainforest, you might have to turn up the volume some. It really did sound this exotic early in the morning.

Nocturnal ziplining. Yep, it's dark. Really dark. It really goes against any survival instinct to jump off a platform into a black abyss, and once I got going, I kept thinking I was about to smack into a huge tree ala George of the Jungle.

Click below for videos of us ziplining across the forest (warning, some of these files are large- fast Internet connection needed!)

(1)Nocturnal zipping (yep, we got bored at night)

(2)Spidey zip

(3) This is how it's done in Laos

(4) A long zip to a platform. Man, I wish commuting could be as fun and easy as this. Definitely the highest and longest zipline, the valley below is probably close to 100 meters to the floor...
