Scenes from Luang Prabang

I'll get to some scenes around town in a bit, but first say hello to G-money, Gifford Wong. That's right, my good pal of 18 years and counting came out to join me in Laos. And just in the nick of time too, because then I could tell him how it looks like he's trying to bring back the Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights haircut back into fashion.

Ah yeah, 2 Chinese-Americans from Sacto on the loose in Laos! The locals are really going to be confused now by 2 asians speaking perfect English and not a word of Laos!

Here are some scenes from around town.

Everywhere you look, the monks are busy painting walls in anticipation of the Laos New Years festivities. Kind of looks like how I would imagine The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn would play out in Laos.

The art of conversation seems to be very important here. How often do you see 2 scooters drive side by side so passengers and drivers can talk to one another?
